Tagfold Privacy and Data

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Bacumi.com does not collect your project data through this free extension. The extension processes data in your browser and communicates with your Azure DevOps organization to perform its functions.

LicenseTerms and conditionsPrivacy and dataSupport

Data used by the extension

Project tags, work item identifiers and tag values, usage counts, and related API responses are used in browser memory. Tagfold can download an optional tags.csv file with tag names and observed work item counts. After a merge, you can download a CSV receipt with work item IDs, source and target tag names, results, and error details. Rename, merge and delete operations send changes directly to your organization’s Azure DevOps APIs using your permissions.

Permissions and sign-in

vso.work_write: Read and write access to work items, used for tag rename, merge and deletion. Actions also depend on your project permissions.

The Azure DevOps SDK supplies a session access token for requests to your organization. It is not sent to Bacumi.com. No separate Bacumi.com account or personal access token is required.

What Bacumi.com does not collect

There is no Bacumi.com backend for this free extension, no usage analytics, advertising tracking or automatic crash reporting. The extension does not upload project content, credentials or exports to Bacumi.com, sell that data, or use it for model training.

Storage and retention

Tagfold stores a small review-prompt state document in Azure DevOps extension data scoped to your user: the completed merge count (mergeCount) and whether you dismissed the prompt. This state controls the review prompt and is not sent to Bacumi as telemetry. Tagfold does not archive a separate copy of work item data. Changes you confirm are stored in Azure DevOps itself and may appear in its work item history or service logs.

Downloaded tags.csv and merge receipt files remain on your device and wherever you save or share copies until you delete them, including copies in backups or synced folders. Closing the extension ends its in-memory session. Uninstalling does not reverse tag changes, roll back completed work item updates, or delete downloaded files, work items, work item history or Microsoft service records. Manage organization records through Azure DevOps and remove files from the places where you saved them.

Your organization and Microsoft

Your organization determines how its Azure DevOps data is used and retained. Microsoft hosts Azure DevOps, Marketplace assets and related services, and may process service logs and network information under its own arrangements. Profile images can load from the URLs supplied by Azure DevOps. This notice does not claim that Microsoft collects no data or that every network request stays inside your browser.

See the Microsoft Privacy Statement. For access or deletion requests concerning project data, contact your Azure DevOps organization administrator.

Support and privacy requests

If you email support or use the website contact form, we receive the information you choose to send. That separate processing is covered by the Bacumi.com Privacy Policy, including your rights, retention and contact details. Please redact confidential and personal information from screenshots and error messages.
