Tags with the same word in a different case, or a likely typo, appear together.
Rename a shared project tag definition through Azure DevOps.
Move the source tag to the target on work items you can access. Restricted work items and PR labels stay unchanged. The source tag definition stays in the project; delete it separately with confirmation.
The affected count is shown up front, and you type the tag's name to confirm.
Merge re-reads each work item's tags right before writing, so another person's new tag is not dropped. A cancelled or interrupted merge can leave completed updates in place; there is no guaranteed automatic rollback, and a dispatched update may have an unknown outcome. Check the receipt and current tags before retrying.
Tagfold reads and updates tags with your own Azure DevOps sign-in. It can download tags.csv with tag names and observed work item counts, plus a merge receipt listing work item IDs, source and target names, results, and error details. Protect downloaded files under your organization's rules.
